[…] one model of 2-1/2 ton truck that can truly be called an “M35″: The first-generation gasoline- powered, ten-wheeled cargo unit. Just as there is only one ” real” M37, all variants and most updates of M-series vehicles have their own designations. For example, there is no such thing as an “M37 ambulance.” The ambulance […]

REO_Echo_July-Aug-22

[…] July   4-9Alexandria, VA REO Club of America July 11-14 St Jakobs, ON International Ford Retractable     Club July 11-16 Springfield, IL Kaiser Frazer     Owners Club International July 17-22 Okemos, MI I would like to attend more than just one of the meets, but  that is virtually impossible, at least with the proper vehicle.   The REO and Retractable meets are the same dates, so I could  only attend one or the other.  If I were a bit younger I could  probably go to the Packard meet in VA, drive up to Ontario for  the REO meet, then head down to the Kaiser meet in MI, but I  would have the wrong car at 2 of the meets.  There is no way  I could drive back to Montana, switch cars, and get back in  time for the next meet, not to mention the fact my wife would  probably shoot me if I tried. Why does it always have to be July?  Most places have  perfectly good weather in June and August as well, and if  the meet happens to be in a more southerly state, even May  or September would work.  I know there are a lot of other  members who also own  multiple marques and are no doubt  affected as well.  So I would like to plead for scheduling a meet  in a month other than July.  Please let me know if you feel the  same.  If I am right, and you let me know, our chances of having  an alternative month considered would be greater if there are  some numbers to back it up.  carleidsness@gmail P.S.  This just for the REO Club of America.  Should we not  maybe change our name to REO Club International?  I count  101 members in our last Membership Directory who are not  from the U.S.  That is roughly 15% of our total.  And I know  of a significant number of REO owners in other countries who  might well join if our name didn’t sound so limiting.  Seems to  me there would be no disadvantage to changing, only potential  advantages.  Regional chapters could be promoted, say an  Australian or Scandinavian (Nordic) Chapter.  What do you  think? Four Times the Progress Submitted by Curtis Rink (member #3383) Just an update on my Speedwagon projects. More drive  train, wheels, brakes, and steering have been added. Seems like  one can never get enough done, but I’m making progress slowly  but surely. One of the four will stay rusty and I did not have a  […]
